Preparedness is personal for My Medic. In 2010, Sarah's father was killed in a car crash on his way home. Help took a long time to arrive, and the person who stopped at the scene had no tools or training to step in. Sarah, a nurse, and her husband, co-founder Ryan Welch, a former U.S. Army Sapper Platoon Leader just back from Afghanistan, decided to turn that loss into something useful.

Sarah and her three siblings funded the company together, with one goal: put tools and know-how into as many hands as possible. Today My Medic's stated mission is to give people the skills, knowledge, and supplies to save lives, and its motto is short and to the point: Stay Alive.
