SquareGlow

Inside most homes, the important signals are sounds: a doorbell, a ringing phone, a door swinging open. SquareGlow turns those moments into light. The company is deaf-owned and builds its alert systems to serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, with signals that are easy to spot from across the room.

The system works like a small team. Transmitters keep watch on the doorbell, the phone or videophone, a door or window, or an SOS button, then send a wireless signal to flashers and strobes placed around the house. Flashers can glow in seven LED colors, so each alert can have its own look. The newer smart models connect over WiFi, send notifications to a phone or smartwatch, and let alerts be shared with family and housemates.

This is a brand made by people who know exactly what a plain doorbell leaves out. Light that reaches the person in the back bedroom, the teen in noise-canceling headphones, and the cook at a sizzling stove is Universal Design you can see.

Why We Love It

Your voice gets a night off, with a range of up to 600 feet.

Dinner is ready, and your teen is upstairs with headphones on. You could shout up the stairs for the fourth time. Or you could press one button. The SquareGlow Calling Remote pairs with any SquareGlow receiver, like the Smart Flasher, Non-WiFi Flasher, or Smart Strobe, and sets off a custom color and flash duration when it's pressed. Its wireless range reaches up to 600 feet, about two football fields. It works for homes, schools, assisted living, and offices too. Your voice gets a night off.
